Hi Starr - No, we aren't in Married Student Housing. However, we will consider it if we move to the Boston area. My husband is enrolled at Andover Newton Theological. We had planned for him to enroll full time this semester and commute from VT to Boston (with an overnight at my aunt's house just off campus). But, due to finances and some new, shaky, developments at my company, we decided he should start slowly. So, he's taking just one class and, ideally, looking for a part time job to help out with finances. Hopefully things will turn around by next semester.

I note that on July 19th I said that I would provide some more information about my self and updates on some of the areas and projects that I am involved in. Well here it is two plus months later and I am just getting around to it. Most recently Tuesday) I moderated the Presbytery meeting. That being done I must focus on this coming Saturday when I am in Allentown, PA for a gathering of the mainline churches coming together to talk about the homeless in the area. I am consered the "keynote" speaker. I start the program with an hour to set the direction and tone of the gathering. Although I have my presentation mapped out in my head I don't have it on paper. My anxiety is building as this is not the type of thing that I usually do. I will be relieved when I am finished. I also am preparing for the installation of two pastors in October. Come tothink of it I am only in my home church for one Sunday in October. That is world communion and I am leading worship that day. Life is busy but life is good. During the past month I have also laid the foundation for an all day retreat of Presbytery Council. That will occur sometime in early January, 2010. I assume the chair of that illustrious but stangnant body at the end of January. It is mid-night in the east and time for me to quit for today. Thanks for your work on Sidekicks.

Hi - I have somehow lost your correct email - probably in the process of switching phones and computers over the past month. No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth and YES, I really appreciate your assistance with a website; however, that's a HOWEVER - I'm now a MAC user and along with that came free tutorials, workshops, etc, in websites. I'm learning more every day, Just realized that this might be a good format to announce my "Applied Tai Chi" classes. Once I'm set up, I'll do just that as you've taught me well how to navigate Ning, Thanks Starr.

thanks for the welcome. no pics of the baby yet, b/c I am still not very good at "fancy" computer stuff that everyone else seems to have mastered. But it's on my list of things to learn very soon!

Starr,
Thank you for the welcome to Sidekicks. My dear wife was probably in the second big wave of women in ministry. She had a career as a high school German and English teacher. During that time we did spend a year in England under the Fulbright-Hayes exchange program. She then resigned in 1972 to parent our adopted newly born daughter Michaela.. As things progressed Barbara (wife) went to seminary while I assumed the primeary parent role. She was ordained in 1985 and retired in September 2006.
Most of her pastorates were interims in highly conflicted congregations.

My current activities in the local congregation include service on Session, congregation treasurer, and sometimes showing up for choir. Presbytery takes a bundle of my time. Currently I am moderator of Lehigh Presbyter and chairing an Administrative Commission. The commission has taken over the Session of a Korean congregation and I also moderate that session. This evening my time and efforts have been devoted to calling a special presbytery meeting for early August. Life is both challenging and exciting.

You may not recognize my name but I was around Neither Fish nor Fowl for quite a while mostly as an interested lurker. More about me later.

Have you seen the video "Sound of Music in the Train Station"? It's great.

We have 3 registered Morgan horses, and one on the way, probably the end of the month. When it arrives, I'll spend a lot of time in the birthing stall with mother and foal and try to get the halter on the first day. We just had our 2 yr old prize winning "stallion" gelded, and he still likes to be kissed on the nose, so I think the stall sitting works.

Our neighbor, just across the driveway trains her very expensive quarter horse mare, so it is fun to watch them. You know, there's not much market for selling horses, but they sure are fun to watch when they run and kick up their heels in the Spring. Maybe that's worth all the hay!

Thank you for your response. My "pet" resides at the African Safari at the San Diego Zoo. And thanks for the suggestion about posting on the main page. While I can use a computer well, still trying to figure out networking and blogging sites. Peace and comfort to you. Lynda
